HEADLINE: PALESTINIAN BREAKAWAY GROUP: WE KNOW ABOUT ALL MISSING MIAS

BYLINE: Itim

BODY:
A breakaway Palestinian organization said yesterday it had all of the information regarding Israel's missing soldiers, and it would divulge the details if certain conditions were met, according to reports from Lebanon.

"We will announce the conditions at a later time, in accordance with the interests of the Palestinian and Arab people," the group said in a leaflet, a copy of which reached the offices of Agence France Presse in Beirut.

The typewritten, Arabic note was signed by the "Abu Jihad Holy Brigade."

The group, which broke away from Fatah, first surfaced two years after the intifada began.

"We have all of the detailed information regarding the fate of the soldiers of the Zionist enemy who were declared missing or who were killed in Lebanon from 1982," the leaflet said.

Army sources were doubtful that the announcement had any validity, Channel 1 reported last night. They added that they were also skeptical about an offer made by Hamas on Tuesday, in which the group offered to return the body of missing soldier Ilan Sa'adon in exchange for the release of several prisoners, including Sheikh Abdel-Karim Obeid.
